KAMMERCHOR BUCHSGAU

History

Buchsgau, an old name for the geographical area between Olten and Wangen an der Aare was used as one part of the name of the "Buchsgauer Kammerchor". Paul von Arb a gifted church musicoian foundet the choir in 1982 creating a 10 years long mucics tradition in the named area of the canton Solothurn. His work was widely appreciated in the entire canton. Paul von Arb finished the work with his choir in 1992.

Some former singers of the "Buchsgauer Kammerchor" could not deal with the fact that a music body of 60-70 persons should wither. One of them, Ruedi Studer (Zuchwil) searched intensively after a new conductor. His search was successful: he found a young dynamic conductor - Bruno Späti. Now in the second half of 1993 the foundation of a new coir started. His name from now on was "Kammerchor Buchsgau" well in line with the former conductors heritage however showing a new period for the coir based on the existing singing potential. Three singers, Hans Jörg Schibli, Hans Urs Vögeli (Olten) und Franz Marti (Dornach) began with the organisation and took the financial risks for the first performances. 64 woman and male singers started probations in October 1993 towards the first concert: "Joseph Haydn: Nelson Mass".

After eleven years inspiring conducting the Kammerchor Buchsgau Bruno Späti concluded his Work with G.F. Händel's "Samson".

In August 2004 rehearsals start with the new conductor, Andreas Reize.

In August 2006 Christoph Della Valle (Olten) overtook the administrative management of Choir projects from Hans Jörg Schibli.

Since 2011, Jacinta Lahl and Esther Geiser co-chair the choir board.
